What is QPRIOR?
QPRIOR registers prior art claims with an immutable, quantum-safe timestamp on the
QAN Blockchain.
Prove that your invention, design, or idea existed at a specific point in time — without revealing the content itself.
Use it for patent prior art, trade secrets, research data, design files, or any intellectual property you want to timestamp. A downloadable PDF certificate is issued for each claim.
Setup
Follow the QAN Testnet Setup Guide to get started. You will need:
- MetaMask — Browser wallet (metamask.io)
- QAN Testnet network — Click "Connect Wallet" on this page to add it automatically, or configure manually via the setup guide.
- Test QANX — Free testnet tokens for gas fees from the QAN Faucet.
How to Register
- Connect your wallet (top right)
- Select a file or paste a SHA3-256 hash directly
- Add a title and optional description for your claim
- Click Register & Issue Certificate — the hash is written on-chain and a PDF certificate is generated
Important: The file never leaves your browser. Only the SHA3-256 hash goes on-chain. Title and description are stored off-chain in the service database — they are not written to the blockchain.
Domain Verification (Trust Level)
Optionally link your domain to your wallet address to increase the trust level of your claims.
- Add a DNS TXT record to
_qprior.yourdomain.com
- Set the value to:
v=qprior1 address=0xYourWalletAddress
- The service will verify the record and display a domain badge on your claims
This proves that the wallet owner controls the domain — adding organizational credibility to your prior art claims.
Version History
Update existing prior art claims by referencing the original hash. Each update creates a new on-chain record linked to the original, preserving the full version chain.
- Switch to Update Claim mode
- Select the original claim from your history
- Select the updated file or paste the new hash
- Submit — the new version is linked on-chain to the original
The complete version history is visible in verification and on the PDF certificate.
Verify
Anyone can verify a prior art claim by hash — no wallet needed.
- Switch to the Verify tab
- Paste the document hash (with or without
0x prefix)
- Click Verify — see the on-chain proof: TX hash, block number, timestamp, and claimant address
The PDF certificate is downloadable from the verification result. Share it with patent offices, legal teams, or business partners.
.qan Names
Instead of showing raw hex addresses, register a human-readable name like yourname.qan on
QIDENT.
Once registered, your .qan name appears on all QPRIOR claims and certificates — making them easier to identify and trust.
Privacy by Design
All hashing happens in your browser. Your files are never uploaded or stored.
Only the SHA3-256 hash (a fixed-length fingerprint) goes on-chain — the original content cannot be reconstructed from it.
Title and description metadata are stored off-chain and never touch the blockchain.
Post-Quantum Security
SHA3-256 hashing (NIST FIPS 202) + CRYSTALS-Dilithium block signing (NIST FIPS 204) on QAN Blockchain.
Your prior art timestamps remain verifiable even after quantum computers become available.
